Conducted by Cantor Ben Ellerin, this setting was commissioned for Park Avenue Synagogue by Cantor David Putterman in 1945. 70 years after its premiere in the same sanctuary, and as a tribute to Cantor Putterman, Bernstein's piece was performed again by Cantor Azi Schwartz, Cantor Ben Ellerin, and organist David Enlow.
